Good Book.
Very, very dry; still interesting & you get the idea of how things progressed slowly through the years. And you get the Spiritual feeling of the Celtic folks.
Interesting book about a little known or discussed period in church history. The deliberate destruction of the freedom of the church in the British isles. The fallout in Ireland and other Celtic areas lingers to this day.
This is quite an interesting volume, written toward the end of the 19th century, on a topic that I hadn't been able to scare up much information about otherwise. The detail is almost excruciating, and the outlook is reasonably balanced, covering the origins, history, and ritual differences between the Celtic forms of Christianity and the 'Roman' forms.
