Torn A Wicked Trilogy Book 2 edition by Jennifer L Armentrout Paranormal Romance eBooks
Packed with plenty of emotion, swoon, and action, Torn is the sequel I had hoped it would be, and a whole lot more! It's addicting, unpredictable, and one I couldn't put down. I loved it. Armentrout took things to a whole new level in this book. Nothing is at it seems. A lot of secrets are revealed, putting some in danger, and making it impossible of some things to go back to how they once were. Relationships will be tested, new and ones will be made, and some characters will forever be changed.Picking up right where WICKED left off, TORN thrust readers right back into the dangerously, exciting world Ivy lives in. Still reeling from the events that happened at the end of WICKED, Ivy has a lot of to deal with. Not only has she found out some shocking things about herself, these very things not only put her in danger, but those she also loves. Through out the entire book, Ivy is internally at war with herself because of this new discovery. Naturally a good fighter, it was hard to watch Ivy go through this fight virtually alone, choosing between hiding who/what she really is, vs being able to accept it, and not being able to tell anyone.
Emotionally, Ivy deals with a lot in this book. Some things were hard to read through, and I give credit to Armentrout for not rushing Ivy's emotions through those moments, no matter how hard they were to read. I understood her reasoning for doing what she does. I loved the way Armentrout allowed me to emotionally connect to Ivy through this. There's no easy choice for Ivy to make. Either choice could have deadly consequences either for her, or those she loves. She'll do anything to protect those she loves, no matter the cost.
One of the things I have loved about this series, as well as all of Armentrout's books, is the way she writes her characters. Whether they are human, or paranormal, or in Torn's case, both, her characters are easy to love, care about, and root for. Armentrout writes them such a way that it's easy to emotionally connect with them. They bring life to the story, and in the process I can't help but want to get to know them more. I can't help but laugh with them, cry with them, and cheer them on through all their strengths and weaknesses. I love that they make mistakes. It's one of the things that makes them relatable. I think it's one of the things I admired in not only Tink, but Ivy and Ren as well. Armentrout allowed me to understand why each of these characters made the choices they did.
Speaking of Ren, and Tink, this wouldn't be an Armentrout book without a lot of swoon, snark, and guys who know what they want, and they're not afraid of to do what it takes to get it. First off, let's talk about Ren. One of the things I love about his and Ivy's relationship, is that realistic give and take. No relationship is perfect, whether in real life or fictional, and I love that for all the giving and taking, there is some realistic conflict between the two, especially with the recent events. I completely understood why this hot fae hunter wanted to do everything in his power to protect the women he loves. However, Ivy is very capable of taking care of herself. I loved the she wouldn't back down when it came to handling things her way and her safety. Though Ren may not like it, I respected the fact he accepted it. I also liked that he naturally wanted to protect Ivy. Aside from their conflict, and impending danger, these two have some electrifying chemistry. They definitely ignited the pages a few times... Aside from their sexy times, I LOVED the moments Ren was just what Ivy needed. Someone to be her rock to lean on, comfort and hold.
Tink is one of my favorite Armentrout characters. I think he surprised me as much as he surprised Ivy and Ren. There's a scene when Tink reveals something, or should I say a few things (snickers) about himself, that no one saw coming. The reaction he got was hilarious. Aside from my moment of hysterical laughing during that scene, what I love about Tink, is that he doesn't make excuses for what he is, and who he is. He's the perfect best friend for Ivy. I love that she's able to at least confide in him, regardless of all the crazy things she's finding out about from him. Plus the nonstop bantering between him and Ren is hilarious as well.
TORN is the perfect sequel to WICKED! This is a book that has it all. There is so much that happens in this book that it literally broke me near the end. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and want to rock in the fetal position for a time. Seriously, Armentrout knows how to write a story that keeps me wanting more. Like I mentioned in my review of WICKED, with TORN she once again proves why she's one of my favorite writers, both in YA, NA and Adult. Being a paranormal fan, I love that this book is paranormal book full of NA themes, something I think a lot of older YA readers will enjoy. If you've read WICKED, be sure to pick up TORN! Trust me, this book will make you wish the next book was already out.
* I would recommend this book to any of Armentrout's fans who are 18 yrs and up. There is language, sexual content, and some violence in this book that may not be suitable for younger readers.

Torn A Wicked Trilogy Book 2 edition by Jennifer L Armentrout Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
This book picks up right where we left off in Wicked. Ivy has just discovered she's the halfling everyone has been looking for. Life has just got a lot more complicated. She's also just discovered her roomate and friend Tink(who happens to be a brownie)knew she was a halfling this whole time. She's very concerned about what's going to happen with her boyfriend Ren if he finds out. It's his job to find the halfling and kill them. How would he feel if technically he's been sleeping with the enemy. To top it all off the Prince of the Fae is now focused on getting Ivy to make a baby with him so he can open the doors to the Otherworld. If that happened it would end life as we know it for humans. It would basically turn the human race into cattle for the Fae to butcher and eat. The only comfort Ivy has is the rule that the Prince may not force her into anything. No magic or tricks. It has to be Ivy's decision to sleep with and conceive a baby with the Prince. Unfortunately just like all bad guys the Prince will try to find loopholes and use threats to try and get what he wants. This book is a great continuation from Wicked. You will learn more about the characters and meet some new ones along the way. I can't wait for the next and possibly last book in the series!
I love this book and can't wait for "Brave" - Both Ivy & Ren have been through hell and have come out of it together. I adore Tink, he is smart and funny. Ivy, Ren, Tink and the good fae are facing a daunting task to stop the prince of the Otherworld and rid him and the bad fae from earth and save humanity. I definitely recommend this series.
In the midst of trying to figure out what to read before I start planning for my reading of books for the next signing, I decided it was FINALLY time to finish Jennifer L. Aremntrout’s Wicked series! For that I had to start with Torn as I had only read Wicked previously. Naturally, there are no recaps for the new adult or adult books (that I could find) so I had no concrete memory of the first book sadly since I read it way back in 2014, but for some reason, I was still able to dive right back into the series as we pick up where we left off. And as the story moved along, I was able to recall what had gone down the first go around.
Ivy has just learned that she is in fact the Halfling that everyone thought was Val, her best friend who ended up betraying her and the Order to the Prince. Ivy knows that she will have to keep this a closely guarded secret from everyone or else it will cost her her life. Lying to Ren though is the last thing she wants to do as the two of them have only continued to grow closer.
But Ivy’s secret will be the least of her problems as the Prince from the Otherworld is free and he’s going to be coming after Ivy for there’s a prophecy about where the Halfling the bears the Prince’s child will open the gates to the Otherworld permanently, letting all the fae free into the human world. But she has to willing consent to such an act, which gives Ivy some sense of safety, but as the reader we know better.
Things were incredibly intense in this one for now Ivy knows what she is and is terrified of telling Ren but at the same time wants to be completely honest with him. Things are a wreck as the Order is trying to hunt Val down for they believe she’s the Halfling. This was a most intense read for there was a lot of secrets coming about in this book, ones being held, ones being revealed, and more being exposed. It made for a thrilling read! Every time something caused an interruption with my progress, I grew very irate because omg, this is a Jennifer L. Armentrout book! Leave me alone world! Lol!
It wasn’t long before I remembered my undying love for the brownie that is Tink! He is such a riot, a brownie with an Prime shopping problem! Ordering things that are way too big for his little size! I was amazed to find that Tink plays a bigger role in this story than he did last time. At least, I am pretty sure he wasn’t as present in the previous book. His character is involved a bit more in the storyline this time I feel like and of course his continued arguments with Ren are to die for!
Naturally with any JLA book you are guaranteed to be swept off your feet with a sizzling and heartfelt romance! It never ceases to amaze me how much I swoon with her books, but yeah, each new book boyfriend I gain is a JLA one! Ren is just an amazing guy. There’s not much else to say. There was a series of conflict in this one that jeopardized Ivy and Ren’s relationship that had me worried for quite a while. I won’t touch on it more than that. Regardless of that factor the romance before the conflict was absolutely stunning and I loved it!
The tension in this one was rather thick. We have Ivy on a mission to find Val and before we know it that part comes to a conclusion and we have the Prince left to deal with. There were some things that happened that I was able to see coming and I kid you not, I was legit shouting out loud at the characters when these things were happening, trying to steer them in the right direction. Yeah. Needless to say the plot kept me very hooked and very involved! Lol!
The ending was another surprise though one I was halfway anticipating. It’s setting things up for what is sure to be an epic finale! The best part about waiting to read a book or series is that you can binge through all the way if you time it right! So now I will be happily diving into the final book of the series and see what will come about, hoping that Ivy saves the world in time! Torn was yet another book that I easily fell in love with which once again reminds me why Jennifer L. Armentrout will always remain on my favorite author list!
Overall Rating 5/5 stars
